Dirty Pair first started as a light novel series in 1979 by Haruka Takachiho who is the creator of Crusher Joe. In 1985, Sunrise studio made a TV anime adaptation as well as 3 movies and 10 OVAs. In 1988, an American comic series was created by Adam Warren. An anime reboot known Dirty Pair Flash was started in 1994 by Sunrise with 3 OVA series consisting of 16 episodes in total.
